At this workshop you'll master sewing zips and make and take this pretty and practical zip pouch at the end of class. Its the perfect place to keep all your essential bits and bobs.
Raid my stash of vintage & thrifted fabrics to create your zip pouch and decorate with our supply of pretty ribbons and ric rac.
You'll learn how to do all these things.....................
· How to make an zip pouch

· How to cover ends of zip

· How to insert a zip

· How to topstitch

· How to use sew in interfacing

· How to attach ribbons & trims

· How to create flat bottoms

· Pinning + cutting & ironing techniques
Materials Included: Recycled and Vintage Fabric, Thread, Sew in Interfacing, Zip, Ribbon & Ric Rac
Basic tools of the trade are also provided* so all you have to do is show up!
*If you have your own sewing machine bring it with you but don’t forget the instruction manual & some spare machine needles.
Classes are small, maximum class number is 8 guests, to ensure you get the personal tuition you need to help with your project and get the best out of each workshop we host. There is also the chance to chat with the other guests and meet like minded new friends!

If you've always wanted to learn how to crochet then this workshop is for you! Your tutor Harlee will teach you the basic techniques of crochet during this 3-hour beginner’s workshop. You'll leave at the end of class with your very own granny square!
You will learn how to do all these things...
· How to hold the hook and yarn
· How to make a slip knot
· How to decrease
· How to do chain stitch
· How to single, double & treble stitch
· How to stitch in the round
· How to a create granny squares, rectangles and two types of triangles

Local crocheter Harlee has been hooked on crochet for many a year! She finally found her “niche” in freeform crochet. her designs include bags and “Joseph Jackets”, so called as they are coats of many colours (and texture). Harlee also makes wonderful crochet creations from recycled plastic bags! She start most of her projects with just a hazy idea of what she wants to do & lets the design evolve.

During this 'Make a Skirt' workshop , you will build on your existing basic sewing skills. This workshop has been designed to give you a great introduction to dressmaking and making your own made to measure clothes. You'll learn heaps of dressmaking techniques and Leah will give you some indispensable hints and tips of the trade.
At this workshop you'll make and take home a pretty gathered skirt that's a perfect addition to your wardrobe. A classic design you can make & make, time & time again with your new found skills! You can also alter the design in class to suit your style, you'll choose how short or long you want your skirt to be and also decide on the width of the waistband. Using your very own measurements you'll create a skirt that fits you perfectly.
You'll learn how to do all these things...........

Who doesn’t love a bit of bunting........I know I certainly do! So why not come and join me at our bunting making workshop. You’ll get to grips with bias binding and master the art of appliqué.
Mix and match patterns from our stash of thrifted, vintage and new fabrics to create your very own garland. Using the technique of appliqué you can learn how to decorate and personalise your bunting for your home sweet home or for to give as a gift for that special someone! Using some pretty motifs and letters you will learn how to transfer your design onto fabric using different appliqué techniques and double sided interfacing.
At the end of the class you’ll take home a length of handmade fabric bunting.
